Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) Eye Exams

This medication is commonly used for certain autoimmune disorders such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Though eye complications are exceedingly rare, this medication has the potential to cause central vision distortion and/or loss. The changes cause by this medication can be easily detected via careful examination with only a few additional tests. Your eye doctor will be able to then recommend to your rheumatologist to continue or discontinue the current course of treatment.

If you are currently taking Plaquenil, please call and schedule an appointment.
