Missouri Kindergarten Exam

Getting your child prepared to start school now includes an eye exam. As of July 1, 2008, the state of Missouri requires every child enrolling in kindergarten in a public elementary school to have a vision examination (Missouri Senate Bill 16, 167.194). This examination is more than a basic screening. Several tests are performed to make sure your child’s eyes are optimal for learning including checking vision acuity (how well the eyes see), binocular vision (how well the eyes work together) and eye health evaluation.
