Solutions

Contact lenses require regular cleaning and disinfection. Your optometrist will recommend a specific solution to use with your contacts because certain lens and solutions may provide greater comfort. Also, always remember saline is NOT enough for keeping lenses clean and safe to wear.

Soft contact lens wearers can use a multipurpose solution (i.e. Optifree RepleniSH, BioTrue) to clean, disinfect, rinse and store lenses.

For some soft lens wearers, multipurpose solutions are not enough to clean off deposits on lenses. A hydrogen-peroxide based system, such as Clear Care, is recommended for these patients.

Gas permeable lens wearers have a two-bottle solution kit. There typically is one bottle used for cleaning and disinfecting, while the other takes care of rinsing and storing. For specific instructions, please read solution directions or call AdvancedEyecare / Blue Springs Optical .
