Anti-reflective Coating

This is recommended for all patients. It helps with reducing glare while using electronic devices (ie. Computer) and while driving at night.

Scratch Resistant Coating

Though glasses is a material with natural scratch resistance, it can make your lenses quite heavy. A lighter material called polycarbonate has a built-in scratch resistance coating. Regular plastic lenses will need this coating to protect your lenses. Remember, the built-in or added protective coatings do not make the lenses scratch proof, so still use your case to store your glasses when not in use.

Tinting

Tinting is available in several different colors, giving a fashionable appearance to the lenses. It can help reduce glare, especially for those patients with certain eye conditions. Tinting alone does not however count as sun protection.
