Dr. Lawrence D. Reed is a Kansas City native and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 from Kansas State University. He began his professional training in Chicago where he obtained his Doctorate of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1980. He has been providing eye care at Advanced Eyecare since 1980 and at Blue Springs Optical since 2005. His professional interests are in primary eye care, ocular disease and contact lenses. He has licenses to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in the states of Missouri and Kansas.

Dr. Reed has been a member of the American Optometric Association and Missouri Optometric Association for over 30 years. He is past president of the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City and a member since 1980. He is also a member of Associated Eyecare Professionals and Vision Management Group which were formed as think tanks and study groups to allow optometric practitioners to stay at the forefront of technology and practice management ideas.

In his free time, Dr. Reed enjoys golf, gardening, travel and singing with local choral groups.
